Woolen Cleaning in Delhi — Sweaters, Shawls & Pashmina

Woolen Cleaning

Wool shrinks, felts and loses its softness when it is washed the wrong way, and most of the damage happens in the very first wash. ClanClean cleans woolens by the kilo or by the piece, with temperature, agitation and drying controlled at every stage — so a sweater comes back the size it went in.

Free doorstep pickup and delivery on orders over ₹500 across East and South Delhi.

Why Choose Clan Clean for Woolen Cleaning?

  • Woolens never share a cycle. They run separately, on low agitation and without hot water — the two things that cause shrinking and felting.
  • Reshaped and dried flat. Heavy knits are laid flat rather than hung, so they do not stretch at the shoulders under their own wet weight.
  • Pilling removed before packing. Bobbling is taken off as part of the service, not charged as an extra.
  • Pashmina and fine stoles by hand. Anything delicate is cleaned by hand, never machine.
  • Priced before we take it. You are told the exact amount at pickup, and every order gets an itemised bill.

Care That Extends the Life of Your Woolens

Clean everything before it goes into storage at the end of the season. Moths are drawn to body oils, perspiration and food traces in the fibres rather than to the wool itself, so a sweater that looks perfectly clean can still attract them across a summer in a cupboard.

Store folded rather than hung — a hanger drags a heavy knit out of shape over months. Keep them in breathable cotton bags rather than sealed plastic, which traps moisture and encourages mould in Delhi humidity. Between wears, airing a sweater overnight does more good than washing it.

Our 6-Stage Woolen Cleaning Process

  • Fibre checkWool, cashmere, merino, angora and blends are identified, along with any leather or fur trim. Why it matters: the same wash that is safe for lambswool will felt cashmere.
  • Stain treatmentMarks are treated individually by hand before the garment goes anywhere near a machine. Why it matters: a general wash sets a stain rather than lifting it.
  • Low-agitation cleanCool water, wool-safe detergent and minimal movement, on a cycle woolens do not share. Why it matters: heat and friction are what make wool shrink and felt — permanently.
  • Reshape and flat dryEach piece is pulled back to its original measurements and dried flat. Why it matters: hanging a wet knit stretches the shoulders and lengthens the body.
  • De-pilling and finishBobbling is removed and the nap is lifted so the surface looks new again. Why it matters: pilling is what makes a good sweater look old before it is worn out.
  • Pack and returnFolded, wrapped and delivered to your door, ready to wear or store. Why it matters: correct folding is what stops new creases setting in before you get it.

Woolen Cleaning FAQs

Common questions about woolen cleaning in Delhi. Call or WhatsApp +91 9821 189 185 if yours is not answered here.

Will my sweater shrink?

Not with us. Shrinking is caused by heat and agitation, both of which are controlled on a dedicated woolen cycle. Almost all shrinking happens in home machines on a normal warm wash.

How much does woolen cleaning cost?

₹220 per kg at our Laxmi Nagar outlet, or by the piece from ₹175 for a sweatshirt up to ₹600 for pashmina. Rates vary slightly by outlet.

How long does it take?

4 days as standard. Express brings it back within 24 hours at 1.5× the normal price, always confirmed with you before we take the garment.

Can you clean pashmina and fine shawls?

Yes. Pashmina and fine stoles are cleaned by hand rather than machine. Pashmina is ₹600 and a standard shawl ₹300.

Can you remove pilling from an old sweater?

Yes, de-pilling is part of the service at no extra charge. It will not make a worn-through sweater new, but it makes a good one look considerably better.

Should I clean woolens before storing them for summer?

Yes, always. Moths are attracted to body oils and food traces rather than to wool itself, so storing a garment unwashed is what invites damage over the summer.

Do you collect from my home?

Yes. Free pickup and delivery on orders over ₹500 across East and South Delhi, at a time that suits you.

How should I store woollens through the summer?

Clean them first, fold rather than hang, and use breathable cotton bags in a dry cupboard. Our winter woollen care guide covers moth prevention, airing, what is safe to wash at home and what is not.

How should sweaters and shawls be stored through the Delhi monsoon?

Cleaned first, then folded into cotton bags or pillow covers on a lined shelf, with a neem or naphthalene pouch that does not touch the wool. Never plastic, which traps monsoon damp, and never a vacuum bag for wool, which crushes the fibre. Air the cupboard once a fortnight from July to September. Our seasonal storage guide covers the whole wardrobe changeover, including what to do about musty smell and mildew.
